JUMP ROPE FOR HEART NEWS
I wanted to let everyone know that the Thank-You Prizes will be coming, but probably not until the 1st or 2nd week of April. I contacted the organization and it seems they are 4 to 6 weeks behind shipping, from the time they receive the paperwork (which was mailed March 3rd). I will pass-out the prizes to the students as soon as they arrive to Lindbergh. The plan also will be to a have an assembly April 13 to honor participants, recognize top fundraisers, and have a student jump rope exhibition (a fun closure for all the hard work raising $8200). Thanks again for your support and I appreciate your patience.

MARTIAN MARATHON NEWS
So far, we have 52 Lindbergh Martians registered to run the Kids’ 1.2 mile Martian Marathon, April 9th at noon at Ford Park in Dearborn. The students that are running the 5K in the morning can stay and run the Kids’ Martian Race afterwards, if they wish. If you sign-up the week of the race, you may have to pick-up your child’s packet on your own. Otherwise, I will be picking up all others (5K students must pick-up on their own). Remember to wear your Lindbergh T-shirt, if possible, to show school spirit.Meeting place TBD by the organizers.
Please consider participating if you have not decided yet. Its a fun time with families. Kids and adults have a great time exercising together. I’m hoping our participation numbers can be between 80-90 students. The cost is $20 and you have until the day of the race to register. Remember to train together over Spring break and enjoy your vacation.

Spring pictures have come home Friday or will come home today.  PLEASE TURN IN MONEY OR PICTURES BACK TO THE TEACHER BY WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23rd.  Thank you!

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades are in need of 500 pencils for testing that will take place in April. If you are able to donate please drop off in the office. ( Ticonderoga Wooden Pencils no.2 are preferred)
Also, classrooms are running low on Kleenex. Boxes can also be dropped off in the office.  Thank you for all your donations.  By this time of year teachers are paying out of their pocket for supplies.  Any donation is appreciated.

This a 1.2 mile race for kids K-5th Grades (adults can run with them, no need to register), through the park. Hundreds of kids from the metro area participate. Dearborn School Kids will start at NOON, including Lindbergh. The plan will be that I will pick-up the packets a day or two before and hand them to registered students. We will meet at a designated spot for our school given by the organizers 1/2 hour before race start. Students that run the 5K and longer races will have to register as individuals but can also race at noon with the rest of Lindbergh students. PLEASE NOTE, all other schools run with their school shirts during the race. Even though we get an event t-shirt, we would also like to show our Team Spirit and run with our Lindbergh Flyers shirts, if possible.

Our final count for monies donated was over $8100. Thank You Prizes should come the week of March 21st, right before Easter Break.

Thank you to all who donated. There will be a small recognition mentioned at the next School Board Meeting about Lindbergh students and families accomplishment for raising money for the American Heart Association.

Lindbergh PTA will have a Bake Sale for Election Day, Tuesday March 8th. We are in need of lots of goodies. If you are able to donate please drop of all items packaged individually by Tuesday, March 8th before school.  Items can be left in the office.  Any questions please contact Vanessa Mkrtumian (734)674-1650. Mrs. DeNeen is asking for 2 volunteers at a time to help direct the voters to the gym.  The
