Teacher Appreciation Week: May 7th – May 11th.

Teacher appreciation is next week. Monday May 7th to Friday May 11th. Our school will be celebrating and honoring our wonderful Whitmore-Bolles teachers. Each day you will have an opportunity to do something special for yours.

Monday: You make us BLOOM. Bring your teacher a flower (fresh cut, fake or hand drawn).
Tuesday: You are NOTEWORTHY. Bring in a note that you wrote for your teacher expressing what you like best about him/her.
Wednesday: SUPPLY them with thanks. Donate a school supply to your teachers classroom.
Thursday: My teachers a TREAT. Treat your teachers to his/her favorite snack, beverage, homemade treat or candy.
Friday: THANKS are in the CARDS. Bring your teacher a gift card to his/her favorite coffee or breakfast restaurant.

**Don’t forget about your specials teachers**

The PTA has organized a luncheon for the teachers on Wednesday and a breakfast on Thursday. If you are able, please consider making a monetary or gift card donation ($1-$5) to a popular restaurant or store that we can use to make the luncheon and breakfast special for our staff.

Please return all meal donations by Tuesday May 8th. We thank you for your support!

PTA News! Board Elections, Bottle Drives, Talent Show and more!

We have some important dates and events coming up!

First, Talent Show Pre-Screening Forms are due in today (Thursday April 26th). See below:

Rehearsals are Thursday May 3rd.  The Talent Show will take place on Friday May 11th.

5th Grade Camp Bottle Drive:  We could still use 1 or 2 more 4th Grade Parent volunteers on Saturday April 28th.  Please bring all your bottles and cans to the Whitmore-Bolles Elementary Parking Lot between 9am and 11:30am.  Funds raised will go toward lowering the cost for ALL of next years 5th graders to attend 5th Grade Camp.

PTA Board Elections.  All seats are open and we need Parents to step forward to guide the PTA through the 2018-2019 school year.  Elections will be held at the next PTA Meeting on May 14th.

PTA Financials Audit and Budget Planning Meeting.  This will be held on Tuesday May 15th in the Whitmore-Bolles School cafeteria.  Final plans will be arranged during the PTA meeting the day before.

We have a few important dates coming up for Whitmore-Bolles PTA.

5th Grade Camp Popcorn Sale!

Orders are due in Monday March 12th.  They come in various sizes so they are perfect for your Easter Basket needs.  All orders will be in before Easter Break.  See your local 4th Grader on how to order some!

Mother Son Game Night!

Moms, Aunts, Grandmom’s or any other Momma figures are invited to join us for some games with their kiddo’s next Friday March 16th starting at 6:30pm.  Fliers will be going home on Friday or Monday.

March PTA Meeting!

Our next PTA meeting will be held on Monday March 12th starting at 6:30pm.  Agenda for the meeting will be posted to this Blog and Facebook by Monday.  Below you can look over the meeting minutes from February’s meeting.

We will also be forming our PTA Election Nomination Committee to gather up names of who will fill the board for the 2018-2019 school year.  If your interested please come to the meeting on Monday for more information.  Actual Nominations will be announced at our April Meeting and Elections will be held in May.

5th Grade Camp Popcorn Palace Fundraiser

Order forms for the 2018 5th Grade Camp fundraiser have gone home with our current 4th graders.  50% of all sales will go towards reducing the cost of camp tuition and be divided equally between all students attending.

All orders and money is due by March 12th 2018.

Checks should be made out to: Whitmore-Bolles PTA

Delivery will be set for before spring break!  Just in time to stuff those Easter baskets with all of the different tasty popcorn flavors you can order!

Happy Valentine’s everyone!

First we have the flier to the upcoming Daddy-Daughter Dance that was rescheduled from last week.  Hope to see you this Friday (February 16th)!

We held our February PTA meeting on Monday February 12th.  The updated PTA Bylaws and the Fidelity Bond was passed.  Other important upcoming dates include:

PTA News: Meeting Agenda and Daddy-Daughter Dance update.

Due to the school being closed, tonight’s Daddy-Daughter Dance has been rescheduled for next Friday February 16th.  A flier should be going home early next week.

Our next PTA meeting will be held on Monday February 12th starting at 6:30pm in the school cafeteria.  The Agenda for the meeting is linked below.  We have multiple business items to discuss and vote on so please join us!   One of the items is our newly revised Bylaws which will be up for a vote (updates highlighted in blue and linked below).  There is also the matter of a Fidelity Bond to be added to our insurance.  Below you will see a link for you to review.  The Fidelity Bond will be up for a vote at Monday’s Meeting as well.

PTA News! Daddy Daughter Dance!

Grab your Father, Grandfather, Uncle, or that special Father Figure an start Dancing!

Join us on Friday February 9th starting at 6:30pm. Free Admission with refreshments, pictures and flowers available for purchase.

Every child must be accompanied by an adult.

We also will be holding our next PTA meeting on Monday February 12th.  Important subjects such as a vote on the amended PTA Bylaws, upcoming events and our upcoming Board Election will be talked about.  Hope to see you all there!

Community Forum on School Boundary Changes.

The PTA Council will be holding a community forum to discuss the proposed boundary changes that will be taking place in our district. This is forum held from the parents perspective. Please make your best effort to attend and share this event with your members. These are very important changes that are caused by the overcrowding in our schools. Many families will be effected when the board makes their decision. Please be a part of the discussion so that we can make a community decision to benefit our students. After all our motto here is “Students First”.  I hope to see you all on Monday.
